28 September: Candidates Nominate for the Blacktown, Cootamundra and Murray State By-elections

Nominations closed at 12 noon Thursday, 28 September for the Blacktown, Cootamundra and Murray State By-elections to be held Saturday, 14 October 2017.

Early Voting Options

Electoral Commissioner, John Schmidt, reminds voters of their early voting options.

"If you can’t get to a polling place on election day, you can still make your vote count by voting early", said Mr Schmidt.

iVote® electronically assisted voting

People who are blind, vision impaired or who have another disability, live more than 20kms from the nearest polling place, or who will be outside NSW on election day, can apply to use the iVote® system to vote via the internet or the telephone.

To register visit iVote.nsw.gov.au or call 1300 2 iVote (1300 24 86 83) or from outside Australia call +612 9290 5287. Registrations close at 1pm AEST election day, Saturday, 14 October 2017.

Postal voting

Postal vote applications will be accepted up until 6.00pm on Wednesday, 11 October 2017. You can apply for a postal vote at www.elections.nsw.gov.au.

Voting is compulsory for all people on the electoral roll for the electoral districts of Blacktown, Cootamundra and Murray. Fines apply for not voting.
