Political Donors

A political donor is a person or entity that makes a political donation (monetary or non-monetary) to, or for the benefit of the following political entities in NSW:

  • a political party,
  • an elected member,
  • a candidate,
  • a group of candidates, or
  • a third-party campaigner.

Political donors have legal obligations and penalties may apply for non-compliance.

Certain individuals and entities are prohibited from making or accepting political donations.

Political donors must disclose to the NSWEC all reportable political donations made.
