Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Resources

Artist: Jordan Lovegrove, Ngarrindjeri

This artwork represents the voting experience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in NSW.

The Waratah is the NSW floral emblem. The pathway running through the artwork represents the different areas that people come to vote. The kangaroo prints along each side of the pathway represent the journey some Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people make to vote. The white dots along each side of the kangaroo paws signify that they have special purpose providing inspiration for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to have their say by voting at elections.
